Progress Report on the Development Project
The total duration of the project is 40 months and it has been structured into five (5) work packages.
The first Work Package (WP1) forms the foundation for the implementation of DEVELOPMENT, as it includes the design of the platform and identifies the needs and requirements of its potential users.
WP2 concerns the definition of the platform’s use-case scenarios, specifying the technical requirements that determine its architecture. Through the effective definition of the platform’s architecture, the efficient flow of information is ensured between the data management system of the implementing body and the algorithms being developed, as well as between the platform and third-party systems, while addressing potential issues of connectivity and interoperability.
The implementation of the system architecture, which takes place in WP3, involves the development of the dynamic demand forecasting and value-added quantification platform, based on the needs and requirements of the users as defined in WP1.
In WP4, the testing framework of the platform is designed and evaluated in terms of forecast accuracy per product category, the added value of dynamic forecasting in routing, delivery, and inventory management costs, the degree to which the system adapts to the specific needs of the implementing body conducting the test, and the perceived ease of use by the user. WP4 also includes the project’s dissemination and publicity actions, as well as the communication of the expected results.
Finally, WP5 involves developing the commercial exploitation plan for the project’s product and structuring the business model.
